中2の息子と40代後半のおかんで英検に挑戦。今回は2級。大阪府では公立高校の入試の際、2級、準1級、1級取得者には優遇があるため（私立高校でも学校により3級から優遇があるところも〜）、せめて息子に2級を取ってもらいたい！という事で頑張りました〜。しかも部活命な息子なので、英検受験日で土日の試合に出られないという事は避けたい…夏に3年生が引退、自分たちの代にかわるまでには英検を終わらせる！が目標だったので、見事それまでに2級取得しました。まぁね、若者の記憶力、吸収力たるや…おばはんはもうついていくのに必死ですわ。
おすすめの問題集
今回はこちらの3冊と面接のためにもう1冊。
Gakkenの『英検２級をひとつひとつわかりやすく』。『ひとつひとつわかりやすく』シリーズはいつもお世話になってます。なんせ優しい。これで基礎的な事をしっかり理解して、旺文社さんの『でる順パス単』で単語をいっぱい覚えて、『集中ゼミ』で問題に慣れるといった感じです。
一次試験に合格してるかしてないかわからんけど、通知来る前に始めておきたい二次試験の勉強。『二次試験・面接 完全予想問題』。面接10回分練習できます。
二次試験の流れ
一次試験の合否はwebで確認できますが、二次試験の1週間ぐらい前にハガキが届きます。ハガキが届くまで試験会場や時間はわかりません。二次試験の集合時間は決まっていますが、面接は来た順番なので、早く行けば早く受けられて、終わればそのまま帰れます。
一旦同じ級の受験者で集合し、説明があります。その後、順番に誘導の方の指示に従って、いくつかある受験教室の前で座って待ちます。
入室、面接カードを渡し、着席。簡単な挨拶。
問題カードを受け取る、指示に従って20秒間でパッセージの黙読（60語程度）。音読。
質問1、音読したパッセージに関する質問。"Why"または"How"の質問。"in this way"、"by doing so"、"so"が文章の中にある場合、その前の文が答えになる。"Why 〜"には"Because 〜"、"How 〜"には"By ___ing so 〜"（___には答えの文章の動詞を入れる）で答える。
…準2級の時と似てる！けど、指示語（this,these,suchなど）はその指示語が示す具体的な言葉に言い直すこと！
質問2、イラストに関する質問。3コマの絵を見て、状況をストーリーで説明する。ストーリーの始まりの1文は問題カードに書かれているので読むだけ。過去形で説明する。イラストの中の人物の行動や考えを英語で言う。内容はそこまで難しくないので、日常のさまざまな行動や考えを英語で表現できるようにしておく。
質問3、自分の意見や経験に関する質問。質問に対して"I agree."や"I disagree."で答え、その理由を2文程度で答える。
質問4、自分の意見や経験に関する質問。質問に対して"Yes."か"No."で答え、"Why?"や"Why not?"と返されるので、理由を2文程度で答える。
問題カードを面接官に返して退出。
質問3、4の理由の答え方
質問3、4の内容は教育、メディアなどの社会問題、テクノロジー、環境問題、最近の傾向などです。私が実際にされた質問は「最近オーガニックフードを食べる人が増えています、あなたはどう思いますか？」「今後新聞はなくなると思いますか？」のような質問でした。さまざまな分野の質問に答えられるように、理由となる文をいくつか作りましたので、もし良ければ参考にしてください。
